Rain Brings Relief in Delhi-NCR, Weather Turns Pleasant in Gurugram and Rewari
Rain showers in Gurugram and Rewari bring relief from intense heat in Delhi-NCR. Cloudy skies and cooler temperatures have made the weather pleasant. Light rain is expected throughout the week, according to the weather department.
New Delhi: People in Delhi-NCR finally got a break from the scorching heat as the weather changed this week. The sky in Delhi and Noida remained cloudy since morning, while light rain began in parts of Gurugram and Rewari. This has brought much-needed relief from the unbearable heat that had been troubling residents for weeks.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts light showers on 17th, 19th, and 20th June in several areas of the National Capital Region. The rain will help bring down the temperature further and keep the atmosphere cool. However, on 18th June, the sky is expected to remain clear.
Big Drop in Temperature
On Monday, cloudy skies and a breeze made a noticeable difference in temperature. According to the weather department, the maximum temperature came down to 32.7°C, and the minimum was recorded at 28.2°C.
Though the afternoon remained slightly humid with a little sunlight peeking through, the intense hot winds and blazing sun took a back seat. Compared to the past few days, Monday felt significantly more comfortable.
Showers Continue in Rewari
Rewari experienced light rain from Tuesday morning. This helped ease the sticky heat that had made life uncomfortable just days earlier. People who had been struggling due to the high humidity now felt more at ease as the rain cooled the air.
Weather experts believe that this pre-monsoon activity is a good sign and could bring more steady showers in the coming days. The clouds and gentle rain have improved the overall climate in the region.
Farmers Get a Boost from Rain
The drop in temperature has not just helped residents but also benefited the agricultural community. With temperatures lower and light showers continuing, farmers can now start sowing bajra (pearl millet) and other crops.
On Monday, the maximum temperature in Rewari dropped to 33.5°C, and the minimum went down to around 20°C, making the weather perfect for early crop planting. Fields, trees, and gardens have also started to turn green again.
The rainfall has also helped improve the growth of fruits, vegetables, and fodder for animals. Before the rain, extreme heat was making it difficult for seeds to sprout. Now, thanks to the cool change in the weather, plants are starting to thrive again.
Weekend Weather Shift Helped All
The change in weather started on Sunday evening, when parts of the region saw some light rain. That continued into Monday morning with light drizzle, followed by cloudy skies throughout the day.
This weather has not only brought relief to city dwellers but also created better conditions for farmers and plant life. The rain helped lower both maximum and minimum temperatures and brought a welcome pause to the long stretch of hot, sweaty days.
Looking Ahead
If the weather continues this way, residents of Delhi-NCR can expect more comfortable days ahead. The occasional light rain and cloudy skies will help keep temperatures down.
With the monsoon season expected to arrive soon, this pre-monsoon activity is a sign of better days for both people and nature. Farmers can look forward to good crop conditions, and city folks can enjoy some relief from the heat.
